  Salomó takes up the north-eastern
sector of El Tarragončs. The municipality borders with
L`Alt Camp to the north and west and with El Baix
Penedčs to the east. It is located in the middle of the
triangle formed by Tarragona, Valls and ---el Vendrell,
20 kilometres away from each one of these cities. Despite
its proximity to the coast (12 km away from Torredembarra
and Tamarit) Salomó is located in a rugged territory of
12,44 Km2, at 163 metres above sea level. Its
uneven relief is due to the mountains in the area (Bloc
de Gaią, Tossa Grossa de Montferri, La Roca Roja and La
Serra Alta). The Gaią River that makes a border line
with Vilabella , is the most important water course in
the area. The town is surrounded by mountains and hills,
'like in the bottom of a huge pot', according to the
words of geographer and historian Emili Morera.

 Today
like always, the town's economy is based on agriculture.
From the 17th century the vine is the most important
growing followed by olive. The farming co-operative was
founded in 1962 and counts with the most modern
technology to make excellent wine and olive oil.
The industrial sector is mostly artisan (locksmith,
carpentry...). There is also a paint factory, a linen
company, a furniture store, a rabbit flayer, as well as
some restaurants and plenty of food stores.
